09/10/2011 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Wade Miley takes aim at his fourth straight win this evening when the Arizona Diamondbacks continue a four-game set with the San Diego Padres at Chase Field.

The Diamondbacks have ripped off 14 straight wins in the desert.

After a shaky major league debut, Miley has been absolutely brilliant in his three subsequent starts, winning all three, while pitching to a 1.89 earned run average.

Miley was terrific in beating Colorado on Monday, as the lefty allowed two runs and six hits in seven innings. He also struck out six and walked three in the win.

"It makes things easier when you score nine, 10 runs a game," Miley said. "It takes a lot of pressure off your shoulders. You can just throw strikes and let them put the ball in play."

Arizona, wearing uniforms from their world championship season of 2001, continued to roll on Friday, as Lyle Overbay drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning en route to a 3-2 victory.

Justin Upton homered and Gerardo Parra hit a game-tying RBI triple in the seventh, helping Arizona extend its NL West lead to 8 1/2 games over the Giants.

Daniel Hudson (16-9) survived a leadoff double in the ninth to finish off his third complete game this year. The right-hander gave up just two runs -- one earned -- on five hits while striking out seven.

"I didn't have great command at the beginning, just kind of pushed through it," Hudson said. "They were pretty aggressive early in the game, so I just told myself to try a push through and get them in the end."

Chad Qualls (6-7) gave up the game-winning run in relief of Mat Latos, who yielded two runs on eight hits over seven innings for the Padres, losers in four of their last five.

Tonight, San Diego will rely on righty Tim Stauffer, who has lost his last three starts. Stauffer lost to San Francisco on Monday, as he allowed four runs and seven hits in six innings, dropping him to 8-12 to go along with a 3.83 ERA.

He also surrendered a pair of home runs in the loss and has now allowed 12 over his last six starts after giving up a total of eight in his first 20 starts.

"It's not the home runs, it's the pitch execution that leads to it," said Stauffer, who is 1-4 with a 7.92 ERA in his last six starts. "And it's falling behind [hitters]."

Stauffer lost to the D'Backs the last time he faced them and is 0-2 in nine games (three starts) against them with a 2.25 ERA.

Arizona has won nine of its 13 meetings with the Padres this season.
